Whether it is rich, flavoursome grassfed Wagyu, tantalising organic/biodynamic beef, tender saltbush free range lamb or mouth-watering free range pork and organic poultry, we guarantee to bring you exceptional quality in all the produce we source, all at dramatically reduced prices.

Urban Food Market sources sustainable produce wherever possible with 80% of our produce being procured from sustainable farmers, and by the end of 2010, it will be 100%! We partner with sustainable producers where-ever possible to source produce which has a minimum impact on our environment as we strongly believe that without sustainable measures, we will not be able to enjoy quality food in the future let alone enjoy the world we live in.

We keep overproduction, wastage, environmental impact and pricing to minimum by working with these producers to only cater for set orders thus, we do not order the stock until we have an order from you. We also collect it straight from the source, so there are fewer hands trying to get their cut out of the sale, which means no huge mark-ups for exceptional free range and organic produce. Best yet, we’ll deliver it straight to your door.

Smoked Free Range Chicken & Turkey Breasts

What do we do when we can’t find a sustainable producer creating products we want? We get it done ourselves! First off the ranks for products under the Urban Food Market Brand are these two lovely sustainable products!
  • Double Smoked Free Range Chicken Breasts
  • Double Smoked Free Range Turkey Breast
  • Grassfed Free Range Wagyu Beef Bresaola (coming soon)

We source the Free Range Chicken and Turkey breasts from the wonderful producers at Thirlmere Poultry and hand it over to the curing maestros at Salami Casa who cold smoke the breasts, then hot smoke, cook, slice and package up into convenience 100gm packs!

These products are the first in an ongoing range of products being labeled under the Urban Food Market Brand.

Fresh to the Urban Food Market family and exclusively distributed by Urban Food Market is the wonderfully flavoured, amazingly tender and thankfully sustainable Mirragong Grass-fed Wagyu Beef

Mirragong Wagyu Beef cattle are grazed on the banks of the pristine Esk River close to where the Meander River joins it at Longford, Tasmania. They live a happy life grazing for 30 months. There is no supplement fed, no hormones, and no growth promotants. Simply Cattlegrazing in pastures as they are meant to!

Mirragong produce 2 herds, one a pure bred Wagyu and the other a F2, which is 75% Wagyu and 25% Angus.

The Beef is hung for 2 weeks before butchered for additional flavour then Vac-sealed for additional wet aging.

Bultarra lamb is converting Sydneysiders, writes Olivia Riordan.

An ancestral stream of the Murray River flows through Robert Meares's family farm. Alongside, there are about 1 million saltbush plants that help reduce the crippling effects of salinity.

It is almost 30 years since Meares decided to plant the perennial native, to revive both the dying water course and the family lamb business. Now working alongside his twin children, his environmental initiative has paid off and he has received praise from gourmets for the family's Bultarra Saltbush Lamb.

You've been purchasing our Value Packs for your family for a while now, why not purchase one for the disadvantaged? 

We donate food to OzHarvest on a weekly basis however our contributions (and the other kind restaurants etc who also supply) are still not enough to be distributed to charities supporting the disadvantaged and at risk in Sydney and Canberra, especially fresh meat!

Duckfest2010, a feast of Free Range Meredith's Duck served 8 ways, will be held at Mumu Grill, Crows Nest

After the runaway success of Goosefest2010 earlier this year, we have decided to move to stage 2, being Duckfest2010. This will be the second dinner sponsored by Urban Food Market and we have selected the highly talented Craig Macindoe, Head Chef & Owner of MuMu Grill in Crows Nest to host this wonderful event!

Duckfest2010 will be held on Wednesday 24th March 2010.

Thirlmere Poultry

Thirlmere Poultry produces Hand Reared Ducks, Free Range Chickens, Spatchcocks, Geese, and Guinea Fowl and is now available through Urban Food Market!

They are situated at the Gateway to the Southern highlands ion NSW and the area has a termperate climate pefect for producing poultry.

One of Thirlmere's most popular products are their Meredith Ducks and the free range chickens which are sort after by chefs!

Thirlmere Fee Range chicken is a fast growing Hybrid Breed that is processed at 6 weeks of age thus given them ample time to range freely. The average weight of each bird is 1.6kg and they are fed on Commercial High Protein (22%) grain which is Hormone Free.
